BrightMedical.com Makes Molicare Incontinence Products More Affordable

Philadelphia PA (PRWEB) August 14, 2012

There is good news afoot for those who rely on incontinence products in their daily lives. Bright Medical, online medical supply company, is able to offer Molicare diapers—the most popular adult diapers—at a substantial discount. This applies to all Molicare products, including Molicare Super Plus, the diaper most widely used for cases of severe incontinence. Bright Medical can offer this special discount to its customers because it recently signed a special contract with Medline, making it possible to offer significant savings on all of Medline’s incontinence products.

Incontinence is a problem for many Americans. Indeed, more than 13 million Americans experience urinary incontinence. In the past, incontinence posed serious difficulties for its sufferers, but today—thanks to the high quality incontinence products that are available—it is relatively easy to manage.

But the best products in the world are of no use if people can’t afford them. That is where Bright Medical comes in. Aksana Perakrostava, Director of Operations, says proudly, “We are happy to know that we can offer Molicare products to everyone, not just an elite few, because our prices are affordable.”

Urinary incontinence—the accidental leakage of urine—is a simple fact of life. It affects not only the sick, the elderly, and the frail, but many active and productive people, as well. Because Molicare makes such a wide range of products—from simple incontinence pads to Molicare Super Plus briefs—it is easy to find the right solution for any leakage problem.

The most common forms of urinary incontinence are stress incontinence, urge incontinence, overflow incontinence, and functional incontinence.

Stress incontinence is triggered by sneezing, coughing, laughing, bending, or lifting heavy objects. This type of incontinence results from a weakening of the muscles that support the bladder, causing the bladder to contract when it shouldn’t.Stress incontinence can be caused by weight gain or sports injuries, and—in women—by vaginal childbirth and multiple pregnancies.

Urge incontinence is set off by simple things like the sound of running water or the act of drinking coffee—or it can happen spontaneously, with no provocation at all. It is characterized by a constant need to urinate, even when the bladder is almost empty. In the case of urge incontinence, leakage results from spasms of the bladder muscles caused by infection or inflammation, or by the use of certain medications. It can also be caused by nerve or muscle damage from illness or a stroke.

Overflow incontinence occurs when the bladder is constantly full, and overflows—often without the urge to urinate. It can be caused by a blockage of the bladder outlet, or by weakness in the muscle that expels urine from the bladder. Like urge incontinence, it can also be caused by certain medications.

With functional incontinence, the problem is not a matter of controlling the bladder but, rather, of being able to get to and use the toilet. It can be caused by musculoskeletal or neurological problems, dementia, or even severe depression.

Diseases that affect the brain and nervous system—such as Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, or diabetes—can cause urinary incontinence. So can a stroke or a spinal cord injury.

Men and women have different risks for developing urinary incontinence. Women are twice as likely to experience it, owing to several factors: the structure of the pelvic area, the physiological changes of pregnancy and childbirth, and the hormonal shifts of menopause. Urinary incontinence in men is most often caused by the enlargement of the prostate gland. It occurs primarily after the age of forty. More than half of men in their sixties and up to 90 percent of men in their seventies and eighties experience this disorder.

Research suggests that, for both men and women, the anxiety and embarrassment caused by incontinence can lead to depression and low self-esteem. Molicare incontinence pads and adult diapers are not only effective but unobtrusive, making it possible to have an active and normal social life instead of being isolated.

As Edith Summers, a Bright Medical customer puts it, “It’s such a relief to know that I can still go to parties, and not have to hide away. I used to be so afraid of having an accident that I’d make excuses and miss all the fun. Now I’m back to my old self.”
