David Lloyd Leisure Launches High Street Studios

David Lloyd Studios will give easy, flexible access to exercise

(PRWEB UK) 4 September 2012

David Lloyd Leisure is bringing its expertise to the high street with the launch of David Lloyd Studio, giving fitness fans flexible access to exercise and nutritional services in the first initiative of its kind by a major health and fitness operator in the UK.

Europe’s premier sports, health and leisure group is due to unveil the first of three David Lloyd Studios in Upper Richmond Road, Putney, South West London later this month.

The company is investing £500,000 in the initial sites, with another planned for Winchester and a third for central London this year.

David Lloyd Studio will provide clients with David Lloyd Leisure’s internationally-renowned expertise in high street locations on a non-membership basis.

The aim is to give time-pressed customers of all fitness levels easy access to exercise with expert support as part of their daily routine. Flexible payment options will be offered – blocks of 3 or 10 sessions, or pay monthly.

Services, with ease of online booking, include:

Personal training: Highly qualified PTs (to *REPs registered instructor Level 3) to support clients in achieving their fitness goals;
Group training: Encouraging clients to get motivated by joining others with similar goals in a small training group;
Lose & Shape Up: A 12-week specialist course, including nutritional guidance, to help clients lose weight and tone muscles via a ‘whole body’ approach;
Exercise classes: High-energy circuit or TRX classes for different levels of ability;
Running clubs: Catering for all abilities with various routes planned to start and end at the studio;
Physiotherapy: a range of specialist recovery and rehabilitation services will be available at selected studios

David Lloyd Studios, which will typically cover between 1,500 sq ft and 3,000 sq ft, will also offer a retail area with sports products for sale, such as nutritional supplements and exercise equipment.

Rob Beale, David Lloyd Leisure’s head of sports, health and fitness, said: “We are very proud to launch David Lloyd Studio, an exciting, innovative concept designed to offer David Lloyd Leisure’s services and expertise in a flexible, accessible format that makes it as easy as possible for clients to achieve their health and fitness goals.

“With the ever-increasing demands of today’s busy world, we recognise that it can be incredibly difficult for people to make time for regular exercise, but we know how essential this is for their long-term health. David Lloyd Studio will enable them to slot fitness into their daily routines, whether it’s during a shopping trip or on the way back from the school run, and with no membership fee required.”

He added: “We are also delighted that our planned investment for David Lloyd Studio in retail locations will boost local economies and enhance the vitality and viability of town centres.”
