Home Exercise Equipment Fails to Deliver on Promise of Hard Bodies for All

(PRWEB) June 29, 2005

According to the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, the sales figures for home exercise equipment have doubled during the past decade and health club memberships have increased 63%. But statistics from the Centers for Disease Control indicate that despite increased spending on equipment to eliminate love handles, trim hips and thighs, or reduce belly fat, Americans are losing their war on fat.

“No machine can ‘target’ the fat on your hips or stomach or butt,” explains healthy fitness expert Anthony Ellis and creator of the Gaining Mass! system. “No one who has trouble gaining lean muscle mass can expect to achieve lasting results using equipment. It just doesn’t work that way.”

Ellis, who works with “hard gainers,” is constantly surprised that “despite what science has told us is true about achieving a healthy body, there are still people who believe they can reach their goals by doing nothing more than working with one piece of exercise equipment.” He notes that “hard gainers invest thousands of dollars to join fitness centers or purchase in-home workout equipment, but they don’t get results they want.”

He cites improper diet and over-training as the two main reasons most people never get beyond an average physique. “I see guys at the gym that workout 5-6 days per week for 2 hours or more each day – but they always look the same. They have the right motivation, but the wrong information. In other words, they’re wasting their time, effort and money doing too much of the wrong thing.”

Because so much effort ends up producing so few results, says Ellis, a hard gainer’s equipment (and gym membership) are likely to end up gathering dust. Weight training is needed only to stimulate growth, and for hard gainers…less is more. “Lean muscle mass doesn’t grow during a workout,” Ellis explains. “It develops after a workout, when the body is resting.”

The body needs rest and food to build and re-build the muscle, says Ellis. “Hard gainers need more rest and food than others to fully restore they systems.” If hard gainers don’t address the unique challenges of their body types and fail to approach health and fitness from a ‘whole body’ perspective, Ellis says, “Their efforts will be doomed.”

A self-proclaimed “average guy” who was “fed up with being a 135-pound weakling getting sand kicked in my face,” Ellis has been able to achieve and maintain a miraculous transformation of his own body. Through study, research, testing, and re-testing, he ultimately created the system, Gaining Mass!, that works for him…and now works for others, too.

With Gaining Mass!, Ellis has become a global guru and coach, to a worldwide network of “hard gainers. “There are more than 70,000 healthy fitness fans in 100 countries that have changed their bodies and their lives with Gaining Mass!” he reports with pride.

Gaining Mass! is a fully integrated program of all-natural, muscle-gaining techniques and strategies designed exclusively for people who have trouble with weight gain. In addition to solid, fact-based tips and techniques for healthy diet and nutritional supplementation, the program also outlines the best way for hard gainers to exercise.

Before fine-tuning the Gaining Mass! regimen, Ellis says he, himself, was devoted to exercise machines. “I was always told that free weights were a waste of time, and machines were much more effective. Boy, was I mis-led.” Ellis reports that for hard gainers , “most machines are a waste of time. They limit development, because they help to support the weight.”

On the other hand, he says that free weights “make you support the weight along the entire path of the movement.” This, in turn, helps to stimulate more muscle fibers, while also strengthening smaller/weaker muscles.” If the smaller supporting muscles are weak, explains Ellis, larger muscles won’t grow. “That’s why professional bodybuilders and world-class athletes don’t use machines to build size and strength quickly. They use free weights almost exclusively!

Ellis learned that for hard gainers like himself, “the focus needs to be on compound free-weight training and lifting increasingly challenging…that is to say heavier…weights.” He notes that compound free-weights approach stimulates the largest amount of muscle fibers and that “the body responds to this stimulus by increasing your muscle mass.”

Gaining Mass! addresses the best way to train and which exercises to avoid when training, but exercise is just one part of Ellis’ successful approach. At the core of Gaining Mass!, Ellis says weight-challenged individuals will find “sane, rational, total-health-oriented ideas” on all aspects of healthy weight gain, including how to structure a diet to keep unhealthy fat gain to an absolute minimum.

To provide encouragement and solutions to hard gainers everywhere, Ellis’ created an eye-opening 5-part report on healthy muscle gain — “Learn What You MUST Know to Gain Mass FAST!” It is currently available available as a free instant download exclusively at: http://www.FastMuscleGain.com.
